The SIG Sauer M11-A1 is a compact, service-issue variant of the SIG Sauer P226. It is a double-action/single-action pistol that utilizes a mechanically-locked recoil operation and is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge. Though the M11-A1 is a P226 at heart, it builds off of an already strong foundation in the SIG Sauer P228/P229 by piling on a number of practical features that make it a truly special buy. Perhaps most surprising, however, is the slight expansion of the frame, which allows it to accommodate a flush-fitting, 15-round magazine rather than the 13-round magazines characteristic of the P228/P229.
