DealThe Star Model 28 DA is one of the first to usher in a new era of 9mm pistols to be known as the Wonder 9's" during the 1980s. The Model 28 represented an entirely fresh design for Star forsaking their previous models based on the Colt 1911 platform. This very unique forged steel frame design used only a couple of screws and a few pins in its construction. It was developed by Star to meet US requirements for a universal service pistol and thus competed (and lost) to the Beretta 92. Only relatively few of these were built and sold commercially.
