Bought a couple cases of 7.62 x 39 from Cabela's this year. All were back-ordered, but came in within a few weeks of my order. I buy on-line and pick it up at my local store. $0 shipping with this option!

Took a while to get the ammo (Thanks Barry.O.) and my first order was backordered and then cancelled, but they upgraded me to GoldenBear (from lacquered wolf) for free and knocked off the shipping, plus got the free ammo boxes. Good customer service and worth the wait.

I waited 1 month for the 640 round spam can, great price on ammo and shipping. 2 640 rnd spam cans were $379 including shipping. Worth the wait!

my ammo was on backorder for over 3 months, then they canceled it anyways. strongly advise not to buy any ammo.

I've bought bulk ammo from Cabelas for a couple of reasons: 1) the free ammo box, 2) Flat rate shipping based on order value. So, if you order over $250 worth, it's only $16.95 shipping. Some ammo does have additional shipping charges, but I've only seen that once. If you buy a lot of ammo, this mean great savings over places that charge actual shipping costs based on weight.
