The Vepr 12 is produced by the Molot factory and incorporates a bolt hold-open device which holds the bolt open when the magazine is exhausted. It is fitted with a modified AK-style safety that has an additional lever that permits faster safety on operation. The safety lever is also duplicated on the left side of the receiver.
